A family of faith,
not just a building.
Bible-teaching. Family-centered.
First Baptist Church of Rancho Cordova is a Bible-teaching church centered on prayer, fellowship, evangelism, and discipleship. We are committed to building genuine relationships and caring for one another as a faith family.
Whether you're a new believer, growing in your faith, or looking for a place to serve, you'll find a welcoming community here — one that takes Scripture seriously and takes care of one another even more seriously.
Meet Pastor Tom Jones
Pastor Tom Jones leads First Baptist Church of Rancho Cordova with a heart for Scripture and a deep love for this church family. Whether preaching on Sunday morning or walking alongside members through life's ups and downs, his desire is simple: to see people know Jesus and grow in their faith.
"Then He said to them, ‘Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.’"
Matthew 4:19
Four commitments that shape everything we do
Prayer
We believe prayer is the lifeline of the church — personal, corporate, and constant.
Fellowship
We do life together, caring for one another as a genuine, extended family.
Evangelism
We share the good news of Jesus Christ boldly, locally and around the world.
Discipleship
We grow together in Christlikeness through Scripture, mentorship, and practice.
The Baptist Faith and Message
Our church has adopted the Baptist Faith and Message of the Southern Baptist Convention (2000) as our statement of faith. It reflects what Baptists have historically believed, rooted in Scripture alone.
I. The Scriptures
The Bible is God's revealed truth, without error, and is the supreme authority for faith and life.
II. God
The eternal, triune God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — perfect in holiness and worthy of all worship.
III. Man
Every person is made in God's image, possessing dignity, yet fallen and in need of redemption.
IV. Salvation
Salvation is offered freely by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
V. The Church
A local body of baptized believers, joined in covenant to worship, serve, and carry out the Great Commission.
VI. Baptism & the Lord's Supper
Two ordinances observed in obedience to Christ, pointing to His death, burial, and resurrection.
VII. Evangelism & Missions
Every believer is called to share the Gospel, locally and to the ends of the earth.
VIII. The Family
Marriage and family are gifts from God, designed to reflect His love and order.
IX. Religious Liberty
Every person has God-given freedom to worship — or not — according to conscience.
"For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them."
Matthew 18:20
